Born in NE Ohio in 1966, David ended up in SW Florida via Philly, NY City and Jersey. He fulfilled several dreams along the way, got away with much more than he deserved and was hijacked by the Lord in 1990. He met a girl in Philly. She said yes.
His testimony is one of extreme rebellion to zeal to much of the same story you hear from so many Christians, until he had a few people invest in him. He has unloaded enough luggage to bankrupt any major corporation taking a short flight and tried to pick some of it back up more times than he cares to admit.
As he has navigated life over the past several years, he has found a common theme in everything he does. When he is afraid, he trys to work hard. When he is trusting in the Lord, his wife knows it. When there is anything good in his life, he can tell you it is because of the love of a Savior who never changes and the work He did because of that love.
He has a strong desire to respond to that love in a way that pleases Him, not out of obligation but out of loving obedience.
He is a chapter president for Truth@Work in South Florida and was a member before taking the position since June of 2007.
After benefiting from the Christian Roundtable Group for many years, he was given the opportunity to provide the same opportunity to others. As he and his wife saw this being a natural fit, they turned it over to God and looked for Him to provide a way for us to provide a stable environment for their four new daughters as well as their six year old daughter.
He owned a construction business at the time and felt he needed to leave that behind after building it for over ten years. He believed it was necessary so he could focus on what he was doing with Truth@Work.
He is now providing the same life and business changing experience to my community that helped him when he was a business owner.
Today, he looks for people who understand a need to continually be balancing their lives spiritually, personally and in their business. He wants to talk to those business leaders who are looking for a place to discover fresh ideas, see them develop and have them tested.
He shares how God had a plan for him, and in turn for them in their business and workplace. By showing others you can view your work as a ministry, you can empower and equip them to be salt and light every day.
When he thinks of what he learned over the past few years, he sees what Truth@Work is unique in doing.
His advice for the Christian leader of today?
Test your ideas, track your effectiveness and be ready to redirect or refocus. Look only to Godly wisdom for counsel. Resist listening to want you want to hear and listen to what God has to say. Don't take a piece of ‘Biblical’ out of context and apply it to your circumstances, rather lay your circumstances on all that is Biblical and see the truth revealed. And join a Christian Roundtable Group to assure you do that consistently.
